Loose engobe in a range of 14 basic colours that can be further mixed with each other. The firing temperature of all shades is the same, 1050-1160°C. Engobes are lead-free and suitable for the production of utilitarian and decorative ceramics. Normal drinking water is sufficient for dilution. High opacity, strong colours. Wear a respirator when working, do not eat or drink!
To mix the engobe: mix the engobe with water, approximately 1:1.2 (water:engobe). The exact appropriate ratio may vary according to the type of application, properties of the shard, etc., and must be estimated and tuned to the specific application individually. We recommend to test the basic ratio and dilute or concentrate if necessary. We can also do a test - if the engobe sticks to the finger and at the same time the wrinkles are visible, the density is correct.
Procedure: pour into a mixing bowl, slowly pour in water and stir thoroughly to avoid lumps. Test the density, doupravte if necessary. Place a sieve over the sealable container and pour the engobe into the container, using a spatula to strain through the sieve. Close the container and describe. Then mix properly before each use. Before use, the surface of the shard must be clean, dust-free and not greasy. Observe the prescribed firing temperature!
