Golden 3551 Sandable Hard Gesso 237ml

Sheps is a base paint that forms a "bridge" between the substrate (canvas, board,...) and the paint. It prepares the surface for acrylic and oil paints, which then adhere well and do not soak into the material. Proper application extends the life of the image and reduces the amount of color needed. It is opaque and applicable to most surfaces. The density is just right for brush application, but you can dilute with water if needed. It is applied in thin layers, usually 2-4 times. Sheps is acrylic based and can be tinted with any acrylic paint.

Sandable Hard Gesso is a little denser than regular sheepshead and dries to a form where it can be further sanded well. The surface can thus be finer than with other brushes, which is particularly useful for detailed paintings.
