The resin dye known as Dragon's Blood or Sanguis Draconis is a product derived from the large spice rattan palm, Daeomonorps Draco, a tree native to the islands of the Indian archipelago but produced mainly in Sumatra and Borneo. This variety is known as the dragon blood palm. It is rsoluble in solvents and popular especially for tinting paints and coatings - but you can also use it as a pigment for colouring acrylic or tempera paints.
